Our History

Placement Helpers is an assisted living and senior care referral service located in Pasadena California. Placement Helpers was founded in 2012 by Valerie Amador. Valerie has been committed to helping seniors find the perfect senior care community, based on their unique needs, level of care, financial preference, and geographic location ever since. Valerie incorporates the specialty concept of offering referrals to individuals and their families who are seeking senior living or care options.

Valerie, as CEO of Placement Helpers, works closely with hundreds of assisted living communities, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home care and hospice agencies.

Timeline

2007 – 2009

Valerie began her career as a Senior Care Advisor, helping families navigate the complexities of senior care and placement. Valerie was approached by her brother, Glen Amador to start a new brand, Assisted Transition, which soon became a franchise. With her experience in the senior living industry, her office in Long Beach, CA became the model unit and training hub for new franchises.

2011 - 2012

Valerie launched 24hr Home Helpers, an in-home care agency dedicated to providing round-the-clock support and care for seniors in the comfort of their homes. Placement Helpers was born, Valerie parted ways with her brother who had recently sold the Assisted Transition franchise business. Starting from scratch she built a reputation alongside her team as the one of the most trusted senior care placement companies in California, with extensions to Arizona, Texas and Florida.

2020 - 2024

Gisela Prishker, a professional photographer, and guru in sales and marketing, joined the Placement Helpers team, bringing her expertise to enhance the company’s reach and impact. Valerie Amador and Gisela Prishker launched the Placement Helpers Franchise Systems Model. With over 20 years of combined experience serving the elderly population, they are committed to providing a personalized and boutique-style referral service. Placement Helpers is proud to be a member of the National Placement & Referral Alliance (NPRA), which promotes professionalism and fairness in the senior placement and referral industry through collective initiatives.
